Welcome to Our Family Farm
Yellow Wood is the culmination of a decades long dream. We are thankful for the opportunity to embrace nature and give our kids the opportunity to learn through success and failure. We are incredibly proud to provide our Fairbanks family with wholesome, nutrient dense, ethically raised food and do our small part to help our overall food security in the interior of Alaska.
Join us along this journey! We are always learning and growing.
If you have a few minutes you can listen about our farm in a podcast with Jo from Jo’s Table Alaska!
Our farm products truly are a world apart from what you’ll find in the grocery stores! But what exactly is it that makes us unique? Take a few minutes to explore the difference!

Our chicken is raised in large spaced, netted fencing in the boreal forest. They have the opportunity to scratch and forage in the woods along with access to a measured feed to ensure humane growth patterns. Once we receive them as day old chicks they live their entire life on the farm. You can rest assured that your chicken from us is never given vaccines, hormones, or rinsed in chlorine that is the major industry standard.

Our pigs get to live their best life in large pens that are woven through the forest. No concrete paddocks for these guys! They really are forest-raised! We breed mainly a Duroc line because of the temperament and exceptional flavor. Our mama pigs are allowed freedom of movement, often giving birth outside in their place of choice. We do not believe in the use of farrowing crates, we breed for good mothering instincts. Due to the new food freedom movement in Alaska, our pigs never have to go through the stress of being loaded into a trailer and making the trip to the butcher. They spend their entire lives on our farm. No vaccines, hormones or ammonia rinse at butchering.

We run Broad Breasted Whites because that is the preferred bird on the Thanksgiving table. We have found them to be personable, inquisitive, and a true joy to raise. They ,like our chickens, live in large pens in the woods and they are often seen snatching bugs out of the air and sun bathing! Our turkeys will never have vaccines, hormones, or chlorine rinses before coming to your table.
